I’ve been a freelancing content writer for around six months now and it’s safe to say I’ve learnt a lot in that short time. Like so many, I had my expectations of the job fed to me by industry-influencers and course creators. But here’s the long and short of it: people online don’t tell you everything about content writing (especially if they’re trying to sell you a course).

So I’ve broken down five must-know points to provide you with honest insights from my own experience.

In the past year, I’ve used a handful of mindfulness apps, watched meditation videos and even signed up for a yoga class (never turned up…). With all those resources, the closest I felt to my deeper self was during my third session on a dedicated app when I had an insane urge to curl into bed and sleep — the reality of my lack of sleep caught up with me in that moment of stillness.

Can incorporating the great outdoors into our fitness regimes provide any health benefits?

Dreams bring meaning to our lives and insight into, ultimately, who we want to be.

When your job stops working out and you wonder why it’s become such a slog, your dreams are at play. You know, deep down, there is something more meaningful you are supposed to be doing, and what’s more…

For the past three days I have been beating myself about not knowing what to write. I wrote a piece yesterday but its focus seemed to drift off the page into unknown territory. I’ve been low on inspiration with virtually no well-thought out ideas.

This evening, three days into my unforgiving idea drought, I slumped heavily onto the sofa after dinner. I put on my favourite Netflix show and tried to unwind until I was drawn to my phone.

After an agonising ten minutes of repeatedly picking my phone up and putting it back down again after a mindless scroll…

I’ve been meaning to write this for days now. The dread that washes over me each time I come to do this has become overly familiar and boring.

We’ve all felt the uneasiness that comes with a blank page.

Prior to the creation of this piece, I had trawled the internet for hours on end, looking for inspiration and a metaphorical thumbs up from successful writers telling me the time is right to write.

The problem was, there were a few questions blocking my path and the only way forward was to find the answers.

Question number 1 — Do…
